Luxurious Design and Open-Plan Living at our Champion Road Duplex Project

Our Champion Road project was constructed by the talented team at Davina Homes in 2019. This luxury, architectural duplex is the work of architect Dean Kizi from GraphioAM. Featuring timber panelling, open-plan design, high ceilings and Davina Homes’ signature black details this property is a spectacular site for all to see.

The front facade is the first glimpse of our Silver Travertine marble tiles, which continue throughout the downstairs and backyard areas of the home. This stone was an excellent choice for this property for its neutral, if not slightly warm tones which not only complimented the darker features throughout but also is a great tile which is versatile to suit various interior styles.

The travertine particularly shines in the living and kitchen area of the home. The silver veining in the marble elevates and accentuates the space creating a timeless charm.

This home features an impressive five bathrooms, laundry, pool and backyard. We’ve broken down the design elements of these spaces below. To see the home for yourself, watch the walkthrough below.

Powder Room

The spectacular Powder Room of this project featuring Tundra Blue marble tiles. This marble is a great choice as a statement tile, it features cloud-like greys interwoven with icy, cream and light grey veins.

Our designers paired this tile with aged brass tap ware from the Faucet Strommen Pegasi range. The organic finish of this tap ware means it will continue to tarnish, wear and oxidize over time. With each piece having unique variations as it ages. This finish is perfectly imperfect, adding a tactile, organic element to this space. The brass brings out some of the warmer veining in Tundra Blue making this duo a match made in heaven.

To complete this space, we added a custom-made Rifco vanity with an integrated Corian benchtop and sink from SCF Interiors. This remains consistent throughout all of the bathrooms in this home.

Designer Tip

Joinery is a great way to tie in the bathrooms in your space. You can experiment with different tiles and tap ware finishes in each room like we’ve done in this case, yet keep the rooms looking cohesive through the consistent joinery.

Master Ensuite

This master ensuite flows on directly from the custom walk-in robe. This room is really breathtaking, the floor to ceiling Elba marble creates a serene and elegant space. The skylight in this space further elevates it, as the ensuite is flooded with light.

Elba marble is characterised by a darker grey shadowy vein on a grey-white canvas. This marble is unique for its underlying bronze flecks which create depth and texture.

We used the same Pegasi tap ware range from Faucet Strommen, this time in a Matte Black finish which complimented the Elba marble nicely. We chose a luxurious soaking tub from Faucet Strommen Silkstone range. We love how the curves of this tub soften the space.

Designer Tip

When choosing the layout of your bathroom, try to conceal the toilet. In this instance, we put it behind the bath so it isn’t the first thing you see when entering this space.

Laundry

The Silver Travertine tiles continue into this elegant laundry. Featuring a matte white subway tile, bringing attention to the same matte black Faucet Strommen tap ware that we saw in the ensuite. An SCF Interiors integrated benchtop and sink, as well as Rifco joinery with black hardware to match the taps.

Backyard & Pool

This is the perfect Australian backyard featuring a generous outdoor kitchen, turfed area and pool. We continued the Silver Travertine tiles in a sandblasted finish into this area. The exterior sandblasted finish has a level of grip making it ideal for external application and wet areas. The aqua blue pool mosaic tiles from Ezarri work beautifully in this space, creating a resort-like feel.

Our team had a fabulous time working on this project, we love looking back at these spaces that we helped create. We applaud all of the suppliers who worked on this project with us, what a timeless and luxurious home.
